sucking noise

i am curious if any of you know what this noise from the car is...i have an 05 gto...and shifting at high rpms from 3rd to 4th it makes a sucking noise sometimes...like the sound of swinging a golf club through the air...any one know what this is

Yes, it is the sound of a Mustang trying to suck up to you but can't cause he is always runnin behind you.

Actually, I have not heard of this problem, sorry.

hmm... i dunno if it was turbo i would say blow of valve however i would guess it could be something with the exhaust. Just take it to the dealer and have them ride with you and try to recreate it.

car is completely stock with 650 miles on it...only heard the noise twice...it duznt sound like its bad it just sounds like air being pushed out or sucked in or something lol...i dont think id be able to recreate it for the dealer haha...its not happenin again...it will though lol

Have experienced the same thing, but you are right in saying that it is hard to re-create.

I file this in my "the dealer would think I'm crazy" book. I have a list of about five of these items that are not an immediate danger but ones that I am going to get entered into my service record before my first year is up.

My view is that if I can at least make them notate my account with it, then a year from now when something catastrophic happens they can't say I didn't mention it in the first year.

I don't know what else to do considering you cannot re-create for someone riding in the car. At the same time who knows? They could be the tip of a much larger iceberg down the road.
