I have a ‘67Tempest coupe that belonged to my late son. It has been stored since 1999. I have since acquired a ‘67 GTO coupe and begun restoring the GTO. Over the last twenty years the keys for the Tempest have disappeared. I can jumper the ignition to start it and I can go through the back seat to pop the trunk open, but I want to get keys for it. My question is, I have the build sheet for the Tempest. Can I get keys made for the factory lock #s listed on the build sheet? I know I can buy new locks for from parts suppliers, or I could take the locks to a locksmith. I am hoping for the first option because it would be the easiest way to go...Anyone have an answer?

I lost keys to a mustang I used to have. A locksmith came out and had a ring of ford keys. He was able to insert them into the ignition and one at a time tried them till he got it to wiggle a bit. Then he took the keys out made a copy of it on a machine then took a hand file and seemed to know how to the file the key until it worked. Took him like 10 min. I think he charged me like 50 bucks.
