04 Z06?

Ok I'm on a family trip this week and I happend to run across an actual "Corvette shop". They had at least 20 or more vetts inside.
They were closed so I could only see through the window!

They had a mint condition 04 Z06 for 24 and some change. I don't know how many miles yet or what maint it has had or may need.

Is 24ish a good price?
How much power did the Z have that year?

If all works well I'm thinking of droping the goat for it.......

405 HP...different motor...should be an LS6...wilder than an LS1 and different than an LS2...I don't think that price is bad for and '04...last year of the C5...I think you will find that the interior is a bit less luxurious than the GTO but you will find it faster and very flat cornering, comfortable too...it was the most powerful Corvette for its time...it is a generation newer than our GTOs and the Active Handling is great and can be mixed and matched a bit to taste (competition mode)...enjoy...Chevy Corvette 1953-2009 | C6 ZR1 Z06 C5 C4 C3 C2 C1 Stingray | Corvettes for Sale, Forum, Parts, Wheels, Turbo, Tech Help, Performance - CorvetteForum.com is where you want to be...just wear a thick skin of armor as there can be a lot of keyboard kommandos along with those that wish to help...

I owned an 02 Z06.

Great car.

One drawback is they don't have a spare tire and they don't have run-flats.

If you decide to go for it, take your spare tire out of the GTO. It just so happens that the GTO spare tire will fit any wheel position on the C5 Z06 as a temporary spare. If you decide to make a trip there is plenty of room to put the spare in and still put a bunch of luggage.

Those cars have very little sound insulation. Heats travels from the transmission through the center console and will get hot enough to burn you. They make an insulation that you can add to the tunnel from the bottom, but it still gets very warm.

Stock it will run low 12's. Add DR's and an intake and you'll see 11's.

They will get over 30 mpg at 70 mph on the highway.

The seats aren't as comfortable as the GTO's but they aren't bad.

You will absolutely love the HUD. If you race it the HUD has a shift light in it. Even if you don't the HUD is great when driving, you can always see your speed without having to glane away from the road.

Go for it.
