4 Round Gauges

Worked on a Jeep Commander Today Unusual SUV plastic skid plate on a Jeep? 6k mi and stitching was coming out of leather drivers seat, Shifter only had PRND and key barley turned. Anyway looks like every one is going to the 4 round gauges like BMW I see so many cars that remind me of my GTO Gauges, Lexis, VW, Jeep Commander, Volvo etc

What car is that dashboard from, it looks like an older Buick. Why premium unleaded only? Is that from a supercharged Riviera?

You should see the dash in the 2007 Lincoln Navigator. Looks just like the dash in the picture -- a big, horizontal speedo -- except there are four small rectangular gauges above it.

Dashboards are really, really boring right now. Some of the ones from the 50's and 60's were pretty amazing. One of my favorites is in the 66 T-bird. The speedo was a big, horizontal thing -- that looked like a thermometer. The faster you went, the more the thermometer turned red. A real trip.

How about the 66 (I think) Olds Toronado, with it's airplane-like "drum guages"

I had an idea for a single electronic gauge with three needles on it that would serve as a speedometer, tachometer, and an electronically-selectable third function.

Similar to how an analog clock works but all the needles would move independently of each other.

The rim of the gauge would allow for the numbers to change (LCD screen?) depending on which third function the gauge was performing (water temperature, oil pressure, etc).

Probably would be way too expensive to put in a normal vehicle.

Anyone look in a new Mini-S? Or A 2000 DTS? Those gauges are pretty flash.
