Anyone got a good truck recommendation?

Of course my other option is to use my Curt Hitch that's on the GTO and put a hitch on there.

I used to have a 1993 Vortech Sonoma 4.3 with Edelbrock IAS, poly bushings, addco sways, etc.

Loved it to death since it was quite the mule.

But one day the radiator busted and the temp and I didn't catch it in time and the head gasket blew.

I sold it for $1000 with 190k miles.

Now, I'm having this truck itch.

I was looking for a Sonoma GT, but those are hard to find, and in decent condition.

My friend has a Tundra V8. I drove it, and although it wasn't a LSx, it wasn't all that bad.

But ever since I saw Quadrasteer do it's thing in the parking lot, I've been itching soooo bad for it.

Like the GTO and NSX and RX7, it's unique.

My uses:

1. taking mountain bikes to and from destinations
2. haul fire wood
3. move some car tires/wheels to the local shop for mounting
4. shopping for furniture

Are there other trucks that I'm missing?

My Youtube Channel
Supercharged (Roots) 6.0 GTO
Supercharged (Twin Screw) 3.0 NSX
Supercharged (Centrifugal) 4.3 S-10

a chevy ss is rare and also has a 6.0l engine but not the ls2, also there is a srt10 viper truck. i think if someone put a fourwheel drive front end to make it a 4 by 4, they would have one bad ass truck

straight piped cat back, JBA shortys, JBA wires, AEM ca, and 421 slp tune

Depends on what you're looking for. I have a 1990 Ranger XLT as a daily driver. 2.9 L V6, automatic, AC, cruise control, etc. It has over 200K on it but had the engine and trans rebuilt around 150K. I would also describe it as a 'mule'. It's not cool or fast or any of those things but it has done everything I've asked of it.

I had a Dodge Dakota and loved it.

Then I drove a guy I worked with's Honda Ridgeline. It's not a great truck, it doesn't haul a lot of weight and it doesn't tow more than 4-5,000 pounds. Then I started thinking and relized except for one time that I was real stupid and put 3500 pounds in my bed and another time I pulled a car on a trailer, I didn't really need a heavy hauler, just a stuff hauler.

With that decision, the Ridgeline is a perfect answer. They drive real nice and carlike. They get good mileage. They have decent power. They are Honda comfortable. They are Honda reliable. You don't see too many of them.

There's my vote.

You have a nice collection and need too keep going so since you loved your Gmc that means you need to get a Syclone even though they are hard to find.

<-- Guess which ones quicker?.....Nope! Not even close.

You can get a Colorado/Canyon with an LS4 (5.3) or a 3.7L inline 5, or a 2.9L 4 banger with 190 ft/lbs of tq.

I personally would go with one of them for a midsize truck, but that's only because I can tune them with HPT.

I have a 1996 GMC K1500 Z71 4X4 extra cab with 153,000 miles on it (original motor/trans).
The only thing I've done to it is add a K&N cold air intake, a true dual exhaust, after market headlights/tail lights, and de-badged the body.
It's done just about everything from hauling dirt to pulling a loaded car trailer.
It pulls a car once a week on average (work related) and my employer has adopted it because I use my truck so often for them. It's "win-win" for me because they have been buying gas/maintaining it for me.
I highly recommend going full size truck just because they provide a little more grunt work compared to a smaller truck.
