CAR AND DRIVER has REDEEMED the GTO

You know it is funny that C&D in past has thumbed their nose at the GTO --- yet they post this article suggesting that NOW you can possibly compete with the GTO..... Take a look at the last paragraph on page 2.

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1

CAR AND DRIVER TEST RESULTS
2005 GTO = 0-130MPH 19.6 Seconds
2005 GT = 0-130MPH 25.6 Seconds
2005 GT with the Supercharger = 0-130MPH in 22.8 Seconds

Wait a second... GTO beater? If we go back to that much contested comparo (and dropped the retarded "gotta have it portion") you get (ACCORDING TO C&D) an inferior chassis design (solid axle), inferior interior, and a just plain inferior car, that now barely matches the GTO in performance. So for the same price as the GTO, you get a worse car with no warranty, that is JUST as fast as a GTO. Sweet!! hahaha

That article is rife with self-pwnzage.

Gotta love it.

"For Mustang fans, maybe the most important thing is that with this blower kit there's no need to hide from that $33,690 Pontiac GTO that can hit 60 mph in 4.8 and run the quarter in 13.3 at 107 mph."

You might have to hide after paying 52k for that car. I wonder how fast the GTO would be after putting 24K into the motor?

Man they Always do this kinda crap on Magazines I rememer in a old MOTOR TREND They matched up a Stock 1998 Camaro SS and a 1998 ROUSH Stage III Mustang, Now how fair is that? Straight Engine vs. A stage III Blown Engine, the funny thing is the mustang had the camaro 0-60 but 70 and up the camaro blew it away. I always wanted them to race it against an INTIMIDATOR SS or a LINGENFELTER SS or Even the 600hp 2003 ZL-1 Super car. And now they are trying to pull it on the GOAT. Let us Build up a goat that's blown to match that and You would already know what the outcome would be

When I finally realized we live in a country where one can only go as fast as the mommy in a minivan (yeah it was a while ago, change that to SUV) putting on her makeup (add and talking on the cell phone) in front of you, I stopped scrutinizing those numbers.

I had the RX7 GSL-SE/Porsche 944 numbers memorizied in 85. Yes, the RX7 for half the price turned the same numbers in the back of R&T. Woo hoo.

Now they are just old sports cars. I had six RX7s in the past and have one 944 today.

We need a category called "liveability". which is easier to live with every day?

Wait a sec, they say that a csc'd 05 GT will go 0-100 in 11.3 seconds, but does the 1/4 in [email protected]? Either this kit suck's up top or C&D can't drive for sh!t.

No slant towards the GT though, that is a sweet car!

Car and Driver has always been a Ford Biased magazine... look at the history... it's always about the Mustang with them.
