Ecotec in the US Ariel Atom

I so must have one.

Great article here:
http://www.automotivearticles.com/12...Atom_USA.shtml

...and as noted in other threads, the Ecotec is an awesome and very adaptable little mill...the Ariel Atom, as sold here, will offer one of many versions of the Ecotec.

Quote:
Since GM has been eager to assist in engine supply. Brammo will get a 2.2L, 2.4L and a 2.0 Supercharged version of the ECOTEC motor with variable valve timing. Many enthusiasts have scoffed these motors, however it is well known that these motors are extremely bulletproof, many being turbocharged up to 350HP with factory internals. Depending on the model, Aisin made transmissions will also be used. Aisin produces many of the 6 speed and 5 speed manual transmissions for Honda, Toyota, and even the 6 speed in the Honda S2000.
Rumor is, this seat warmer is a no-cost option in the Atom:

Now...to do something about the engine's name...Ecotec is so Birkenstock / Granola.

Holy crap, if you buy one I'm flying out to Cali and paying you to drive the damn thing, those things are super cool!! I like the review on Top Gear of the Euro-spec one, wish I had the disposable income!
