Grand Prix of Europe

Geez, did anyone see Kimi's right front suspension explode on the last lap?

I did. I am a huge F1 and Kimi fan. He was driving the hell out of that car. I give him credit for not going apes#$T as he has done in the past after the suspension let go. Since he flat-spotted the tire himself and caused the problem, I'm sure he realized that it was a self-inflicted. BTW did you notice how close that tire came to hitting him in the head? That tether saved his a$$ for sure!

Yep. The tethers are short enough to keep the tire and suspension from getting into the cockpit. It banged on the nose of the car right in front of Kimi's hands.

I hope the constructors take a look at that close up video -- because if there were bits of the suspension still attached -- they could have wound up whacking him on the head or going through his chest, etc.

As David Hobbs pointed out -- that looked a lot like the incident that got Senna.
