It's a small USA.

Back in the late 80's I build a 64 LeMans into a clone of my conv. for a daily driver. Paint on the conv. was pretty fresh then so wasn't driving it as much as I do now.
Saved the LeMans from death I'm sure. 326 was bad & one front fender was bad. Painted it to look just like my conv. Marimba Red on bottom, black vinyl roof on top. Was a 2 tone car so had the vinyl roof trim already. 455, front disc brakes and lots of other updates. She drove nice and I enjoyed driving it. Drove the heck out of her. Drove it all the way to INDY in 93 for a for big GTO show. Couple of years latter my older brother was bugging me to sell it to him. So to please him I gave in. Missed it the minute I did too.Anyway a year latter someone offers him $1,000 more than he payed me so he ups and sells it. Pretty sure he still does not understand now upset I was. It then sold 3 or 4 more times, last two on ebay.

Now to get to the small USA part. On vacation last year I stopped at Nebraska's Pioneer Village in Minden.Spent 3 hours just enjoying it all.. Probably walked by this guy a couple of times. Had on one of PONTIAC T-shirts. So he finality walks up to me & asks what kind of Pontiac I have. I tell him 64 & he says he as a 64 too but it as a 65 hood scoop in it.
Now I have only seen 4 of these 64 & 1/2 hoods as I call them. And hey Nebraska is close to Wichita maybe it's my old car. So I ask is it Marimba Red with Black vinyl roof and a 455. He says YES. So I tell him that's old car. We talk 30 or 40 minutes before his wife finds us and he as to take the kids to lunch. Here is the kicker he is not from Nebraska I'm not from Nebraska. Just same place same time!!!! Anyone want to guess where he is from??

Here is a pic. of her on the INDY 500 track!!
