Mad Max

I was watching Mad Max. (supposidly Mel Gibson drives a monaro from what i heard but i dont know what the old ones look like). What a great movie, does anyone else think that the GTO would be an excellent car for driving highspeeds fighting biker gangs?

Here is a little info on the Mad Max car. You can get the whole scoop on the car at madmaxmovies.com. Cool stuff!!!

The car started life as a standard 1973 XB GT Ford Falcon Coupe, a car exclusive to Australia. And for the first few years of its life, this is pretty much how it stayed.

Then in 1976, film makers Byron Kennedy and George Miller began pre-production on Mad Max. They needed a vehicle to feature in the film as the black police 'Interceptor' - a high performance, evil looking Australian car.

No Mad Max doesn't drive a Monaro.

But watch it though, there is a Monaro in the movie, the bad guy (Nightrider) at the start of the movie who slams into a caravan - thats a Monaro !

I've thought for all these years that Mad Max drove an AMX.

So did I, but when I looked it up to confirm my info, I was WRONG!!! Maybe the US version was the AMX, but that may be stretching it...alot!!!
