"Nice chevy!" (I love my GTO!)

I think all of you will appreciate this one...I've read about this happening to
others but this was a first for me personally...So there I am at the
Window tinting place this morning waiting for personnel to arrive and open up the place. Another guy in a new Volvo C70 Hardtop Convertible (nice car!)
pulls up and gets out...Obviously waiting for the same thing, he checks
the hours on the door and then walks over to me and asks when they open.
I replied 0900 and then he said to me "Nice Chevy" staring at the goat... I thought that was what he said but then I thought no, he could not possibly have mistaken it for a chevy ...So I replied "what was that?", by this time he was walking around the rear of the vehicle, already had peeked inside the non-tinted side windows (how did he miss GTO on the red seat?). He replied "nice chevy!". Okay that's what I thought he said...So I kindly told him it was a Pontiac. He then said, "oh yeah, a new grand am or grand prix right?" I then politely corrected him and told him it was a 2006 Pontiac GTO . Then he asked if it had a 3.7L V6 in it. ..I then showed him the badges and told him about the LS2 and the drivetrain. He replied, "Wow, nice!" I then complemented him on his car and told him a friend of mine had one like it that he had bought in Europe. Nice car for sure and my friend's would haul a$$! He said had owned a 2005
Mustang GT but traded it for the Volvo, cuz he didn't like the 'cheap feel'.
So he will probably be studying up on GTO's tonight and might even run across this post!
All in all, a funny experience! I luv watching people's jaws drop open...He didn't even hear it run...Just had to post this first-time experience.

Yeah, right tree, wrong branch.

However, certainly didn't want to even bring up the Holden
issue...Wasn't worth it.

I got some pretty cool props from a young buck today at 7-11. Went there to get a slurpee and as I was parking, this kid (16-18) is staring at my '04 M6 and almost walks into the front door without opening it! When I finally walked in he says, "Oh my, a GTO! You have MY car!" I said, "I'll bring it back when I'm done!" (he drives an Alero I found out) Then he says, "Is it a stick or automatic?" To which I replied, "A 6-speed". He then said, "Wow...I bow down to you." It was pretty cool. The kid wasn't corny, just excited and I obliged, telling him thanks. He said he wishes he could buy one, I told him to start saving his nickels, that's what I did! It was cool that he recognized it.

I've had now 2 Chargers and 1 VW pull up next to me on the freeway with thier "OK" hand signal and thier knodding heads lip sinking "Nice car dude"! I of course gave them the thumbs up then threw it in fourth gear from sixth, and wales it pulling hard. Just though I should add that.

Keep on truckin...
