Vibram Five Finger shoes

Anyone try these?

I'm looking for something for camping, rafting and some light hiking.

An all in one. It needs to be able to drain the water and dry fairly fast.

I've owned shoes with Vibram soles and love them. However, I'm not familiar with them as a full shoe company.

They look like they'd stay wet between the toes, giving you jungle rot pretty quick.

I bought a pair of Rockys just like these for hunting, and I must say they are the most epic thing I've ever put on my feet... kept them dry and warm, even after falling through ice and into about 18" of water. Comfortable as hell too, hard to come by in a boot.

I have a pair of the black ones. I use them for riding on the Jet Ski. They have held up well. They dry quick. They're commfortable. They're about a year old now and the stitching is still intact and the soles are holding up well. They grip well when wet too.

I'm not so sure about the hiking. The soles aren't really cut out for that I don't think. Rafting and camping they are perfect for though.

I'd buy another pair.

I used to swear by Timberland. Had a pair for 13 years (back int he 70-80's) even after the insides were deteriorating they were still waterproof and warm even while walking in streams in hunting season. Called Timberland about them when they finally went after like 17 years, damn if they didn't replace them! I still have them but I tried a pair of Rocky Bear Claws in Chamo like the above pic... DAMN... I love em. Comfortable, warm... spongy when ya walk. Can wear em all day and they are just as comfortable after 8 hours as the first 8 mins of wearing them.

Those toed boots are what the Big Foot impersonators wear when traipsing through the woods and some knucklebean sees the prints in mud and thinks Big Foot lives.

Searching for more pictures of your Cayenne tips, I found this thread and wanted to add my $0.02.

I have three pairs of the Fivefingers, run in them frequently and I love them. I have the KSO, Flow, and KSO Treks (all black). I use them to run on local mountain bike trails and have put many many miles on them and they are excellent shoes. You can really feel the ground beneath you, which is something you gotta get used to, but if I could wear these shoes all day I would.

The KSO Treks are very grippy on the trails... almost as grippy as trail running shoes I've worn in the past. They do have a thicker sole so you can't feel the ground as much... which would be a good thing for someone not used to stepping on roots and stones (nearly) barefoot. There was a "break in" period for my g/f and I and our legs/feet were sore for a week as neither of us were used to walking/running barefoot.

I've done 5+ miles at a time on trails and concrete and they are great.
I would recommend finding a local vendor to try them on before buying any online though... the fitment is odd and getting the right size is pretty important.

I have a pair of KSOs and use em in the gym for weight training, and running. Done 5K in them too, best thing for my bad ankle! Never hurts any more, these make your feet function as they were designed by nature. Takes a week or two to get used to, but after that you'l wonder how you wore anything else.. Highly recommended.
