GTO44 You can try putting a 12volt source directly to the connector for the motor and see if it moves either way. If it moves you know the switch went bad. If it doesn't you know the motor is toast.

I actually just did that last night helping a buddy out with his older 5.0. His seat goes up and down but not forward or backward. We took the 12 volt source coming from wiring harness, rigged up a couple wires, and applied it directly to the seat motor. The rails on the seat immediately started moving so for what ever reason the forward/backward part of of the little joystick control had gone bad.

Driver's Side Seat

The driver's side seat on my '04 has stopped moving forward and back. The seat back tilts using the power switch but the seat won't move forward or back using either switch. I've disconnected the battery, checked the fuse with no good result. I'm afraid the motor may have gone bad.

Any thoughts?
