History
I purchased this car in Jan 2019 from a guy in Riverside Ca who had started a restoration 7 years ago and had some very questionable shops work on it. So far I've had to redo everything they had done. This guys brother had purchased it from a guy in Idaho 8-9 years ago. I have the guys name, but so far have been unable to reach him. From what I can tell, the car was drag raced. It had a bracket welded to the cross member for a pull rope hook and has a later model 12 bolt ( 70 or later) posi-traction rear end. I've had it researched through PHS as well. It originally left the factory with the 389 4bl. 3 speed manual transmission, tinted glass and rear window defogger. From what I can gather, it was converted to a 4 speed in the early days as it is "period correct". it was build the 2 week of January 1965 in Pontiac Michigan and the engine was cast in early December 1964. I hope to find out more about its history. After a 10 month restoration, this is what she looks like now. It's really a sound car and fun to drive. She saw the road for the first time in at least 10 or more years just recently. Drove it through the famed Bob's Big Boy in Studio City Ca. last night and got a lot of "nice car" from the guys and gals in attendance.
