Convertible; 4-speed Tri-Power
Indeterminate; bought at auction May 2017 from Canadian collector; originally sold new by Monroe, MI, Pontiac dealer. Owned briefly by Arizonan in 2006. And sadly that's all the history I've been able to dig up. So far.
1966 Pontiac GTO (Montero Red)
Tri-Power conversion by some previous owner (thank you sir!), but now fine-tuned to correct specs. Factory power steering. Power disc brake conversion, again thanks to a previous owner. General spiffing up to original (as much as possible).
Stock all the way, with new door panels 2018. Next up: replacing the deteriorated dash and converting standard dash layout to Rally Gauges, followed by rear seat rebuild.
In process of restoring to stock configuration (2018) including replacing missing or incorrect moldings & scripts, replacing deteriorated grilles, and general spiffing up (lots of room for improvement!)
Factory AM/FM radio, restored to good working condition (2018).
New springs, shocks, and bushings to restore the original ride; plus addition of rear sway bar (2018).
Wheel and Tire
New Firestone FR70-14 radial Wide-Ovals to replace the 15-year-old unused BFGs, mounted on newly-powdercoated Rally 1's (2018)
