1966 Pontiac Tempest Custom post coupe (Bahama Blue Metallic)
The 326 was replaced (and kept) with a 463 with 6x-4 heads, forged pistons, Lunati street cam, Harland Sharp 1.65 roller rockers Edelbrock manifold and carb, Hedman jet coated headers into 2.5 " true dual exhaust
the interior was completely baked so it was replaced with 65' corvair seats (same as GTO only cheaper) and the 65' arrowhead interior and 66' door panels. I custom made the dash pad with a 3 gauge pod and stretched it in matching vinyl. a real wood dash insert was added and a B&M quicksilver shifter was fitted in the 66' auto console with walnut knob.
the body is all original sheetmetal with no patches, it was epoxy coated over the original paint. the only bodywork was one small wrinkle on the drivers rear wheel well edge and 45 years of dings and waves from having things piled on it. I blocked it and guide coated it down to 600 wet in the garage and sprayed it at the local school booth with 3 coats of the bahama blue metallic and 4 of clear. all of the trim and bright work except for the wheel well moldings are original and just cleaned up
A hidden kenwood head unit and Clarion EQ reside in the glove box with room for a pair of gloves to spare. the trunk ledge houses a Clarion 400 watt 4 channel main amp and a separate 240 watt bass amp. up front the speakers are 4x6 two way JBL GTO series hidden behind the air vent in the kick panels. the rear speaker box bolts up under the stock package tray holes with two 6x9 3 way JBL.s and an 8" JBL sub
