Hey guys I have a 65 GTO manual 4 speed. The grabbing point is a little higher up in the pedal is there anything I should be worried about? It doesn't slip at all and doesn't pop out of gear. In fact it drives fine I just didn't know if that means the clutch is going out or not? Thanks!

the pedal will move upward as the clutch ware's. Normal.
Normally the clutch should engage 1 to 2 inches off the floor.
There should also be 1 to 2 inches of free travel ant the top of the pedal stroke.
Tight at the top is counter productive and is equal to resting your foot on the clutch pedal.

Ya gotta get under the car and adjust the linkage rod that goes into your clutch fork. It is designed with a threaded end which should have some nuts on it to lock it into place. The other end at the clutch fork is typically squared off so you can get a wrench on it to turn it to make your adjustments.

Loosen the nuts so you can turn the rod. As I recall, you want to extend the rod out to take up the play that normally develops as the clutch facing wears down. You want to extend that rod out enough, but not so much that the throw out bearing is tight up against the pressure plate. You should have some free play/movement in the clutch fork as you move it back and forth in its fully released position (clutch pedal out) and then when it hits the pressure plate fingers. Depending on the clutch wear, you might only have to go 1 or 2 full turns of the clutch rod. If it hasn't been adjusted in a while, you may need more. Once your happy with it, just tighten the lock nuts back up and you are good to go.

Easy thing to do and doesn't take much time. Just be safe and support the car well as you are going to be under it and don't need it falling on top of you.:smile2:
