I have a 1968 GTO that did not come from the factory with A/C. Since I'm in Texas I'd like to add an aftermarket A/C system. Adding it is beyond my mechanical ability. Does anyone know of a really good shop/mechanic that can do this. I'm in the north DFW area but anywhere near Dallas TX would be great.

In Texas, driving with the windows open feels like standing in front of a blast furnace! Lol

Try Old Air Products in Fort Worth. I don't think they do installations but I'm sure they could tell you some local shops they work with. I have reworked the AC system on my 68 GTO (and also my 72 442) using mostly their parts and they blow cold. Also, with the 68 GTO the control panel in the interior is curved and vertical, I couldn't find an aftermarket system that would work with the stock controls, so I upgraded the compressor, evaporator, and condensor to modern units that fit in the stock location, and use a POA elimination kit, and was able to retain the stock controls.
Good luck,
Jeff
