I asked this question on FB and got stupid answers. What is the diameter if the air filter used on the Ram Air induction setups? I read that the air cleaner lid is 13 1/2 inches. I currently have a 14" diameter open ellement air cleaner that sucks in all the hot air thru the radiator. I want to put the Ram Air pan and base on so I can pull air in thru the hood scoops. Can the repo lower air pans be used with a 14" diameter air cleaner?

Hi phughes69,

I’ve used the Delco A212CW on my 68 factory GTO Ram Air system forever, even though the box states (w/o Ram Air).

The filter diameter is just under 14”. The air cleaner lid is 14.5”.

I can’t help with the dimensions of the reproduction lower air cleaner housing.

Yeah... For whatever reason, no one seems to want peopel to convert to ram airs. I always thought it was a cool idea.

That would be sacrilegious and deceitful to put a ram air air cleaner on a non ram air car according to the pursuits.

It was an over the counter option from late 66-68. You could buy the parts from your dealer and install at home on any engine.

In addition the the over-the-counter option O52 mentions, it’s a reversible/ non-permanent add.

Most importantly, it’s your car. Enjoy as you desire...
