First time posting here, turning to the experts on this one :) I know little about the GTOs I come from the Ford world, With a 69 Mustang fastback. But I have nothing but respect for them.
So I came across a 69 for sale for $4300 the car is in ok shape. Needs new paint, carpet and a bunch of little things strong running motor which is out of a 72 GTO. Minimal rust from what I can see (Its in the trunk). The car is a auto and has bench seats in the front, also A/C. I would like to know how common are the bench seats in this year and does it up the value any? Also I would like to know if this is a good price, I'm trying to upload some photos but having some troubles. Any help is appreciated!

EDIT: If you click on my profile you can see the car because it still hasn't allowed me to post it in the thread.

Check for rust around the back window. Mainly the bottom corners where water would settle and begin to rust. Also open the trunk and looks up into those areas and the package tray area from inside the trunk. Reach down into the quarter panels inside the trunk and check for rust, bondo, or fiberglass repairs.

I have a 70, not much differance where they rust. I had to replace. Floor pan under back seat it was rusted on top of the frame and just looking under the car on the ground I couldnt see it. Then I got it home up on a lift and seen it rusted above the frame. Also had to replace the entire section behind the back window, and the trunk floor. Check for rust around front windshield also. I can nearly bet the sides of the cowl are rusty also and you cant see this with a fender on it. Years and years of debris like leaves get trapped down in there and rot that out.

Hope shes a good one for you.

I didn't think they came with a front bench seat. (I'm sure an expert on here will enlighten us.) It may have been an option, but an undesirable one at that.
It sounds like you have some fun ahead of you though!

You could get a bench seat in '69. Buckets were preferred, so a bench wouldn't be as common and "may" increase the value to the right person if it was born with a bench......

This car was born with bench and ac. What do these cars usually go for? How much would you pay for a project car? I know for the Mustang, a mach 1 of this year would be still a steep price even in a rough condition.
