Trying to help my son sell his 71 gto and need to make sure I'm listing the car correctly. Looked up VIN# and it's a 71 GTO automatic made in Atlanta. My problem is the engine, and making sure it came with the car. I have the YC under the numbers 402775. The intake numbers match to a 71 455 auto trans. How do I find out the year of this engine and if it was the original? and which horsepower block we have .......Thanks eveyone

If it's the original engine, the serial number portion of the VIN will be stamped into the block --- down LOW, passenger side, running next to the timing cover. (Not the 402775 that you found underneath the YC).
