THE GOATS ARE COMING, THE GOATS ARE COMING

The GTOAA Nationals is returning the East Coast after a 4-year hiatus out West and Midwest.
The 39th Annual Convention will take place June 26-30, 2018 in Historic Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

Hosted by Susquehanna Valley GTOs Inc., this convention will be held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA. SVGTO is diligently at work preparing a first-class event for our guests as we present: GOATS ON THE BATTLEFIELD.

We have several social media outlets available to keep everyone informed and updated on this event. As this event nears and activities are confirmed we’ll update the information. We are advertising this event well in advance for those who wish to attend so they can plan accordingly. We’ve chosen the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center for event as this area is rich in the history of this nation and all events are easily accessible from the PA turnpike and all major highways North, and South.

*** We have been asked if one needs to be a GTO owner or a GTOAA member to register and attend the 2018 Convention. To clarify:

ALL Pontiac owners ARE INVITED to register and attend this convention.

Only GTO owners need to be a GTOAA member to be able to register. If you are not a GTOAA member, own a GTO and wish to attend this convention, you can join the GTOAA. They are running a promotion at this time to join. Contact them at [email protected] or visit their facebook page for further information. https://www.facebook.com/GTOAA/

Those Pontiac owners who want to attend who are not a GTOAA member, the event registration fee is only 10.00 more than a GTOAA member. GTO owners and Pontiac A-Body owners are invited to register their car for the Concours showfield. Pontiacs will be able to be registered in the popular vote showfield or Street Legends class.

Non GTOAA members who register for the convention are invited to participate in all activities, seminars, the banquet and awards ceremonies. Registration for this convention is scheduled to open in September 2017.

****4th Generation GTO's: We will have a select few concours quality GTOs included in the concours showfield undergoing beta concours judging as the GTOAA prepares to introduce the 2004 GTO into the 2019 concours showfield. The 2005 GTO will be added to the concourse showfield in 2020, and the 2006 GTO in 2021.
This is a PONTIAC CELEBRATION. We invite ALL Pontiac owners to register for this Convention.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE 2018 GTOAA NATIONALS

1ST Annual Classic Pontiac Hall of Fame Inductee Display and Pontiac Car Show

Saturday June 30th
8:00am-4:00pm
Max Performance Inc.
2705 Clemens Rd
Hatfield, PA 19440

This event is being held just 20 minutes down the road from the GTOAA Nationals in Hatfield PA. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of history in witnessing the selection and induction of the inaugural nominees to the 1st Annual Classic Pontiac Hall of Fame. A fitting display will be unveiled at the show. Find out and honor those who we all chose to make it in on the first ballot!

This momentous occasion is being held in conjunction with the 8th Annual Pypes/Max Open House and Car show extravaganza. Here you can see 4 simultaneous car shows. Expect to see more than 300 of the rarest Pontiacs ever restored along with hundreds of premier regional Musclecars, Corvettes and Mustangs. Bring your classic to participate in the Popular vote Pontiac show or just hang out in the free cruise-in area. As if this weren't enough, Live Music, food court, mfg midway, door prizes, trophies, hospitality suite, free coffee and donuts to participants and more are all happening here on Saturday. All held on the park like grounds of Pypes, Cold Case, Snappin Turtle and GTOG8TA.com. --- And don't forget to head back to the convention center for the award banquet where we can show our appreciation of our new inductees as we formally present them and their families with their HOF lifetime achievement awards.

Looks like a fine event, but why "along with hundreds of premier regional Musclecars, Corvettes and Mustangs" if it is the GTOAA Nationals? So it is not an exclusive Pontiac/GTO event but a bigger car show incorporating the GTOAA Nationals?

It sounds like its 20 minutes down the road from the Pontiac GTO show and is sponsored by Pypes, not GTOAA. As a membe of GTOAA, I've never known them to have vehicles other than GTO's, Lemans, and big Pontiacs allowed in their shows. This sounds like its just the sames dates as the Pypes muscle car show and they're 20 minutes apart.

That event is separate from the Convention. What is new with the show at Pypes this year is, a Pontiac Hall of Fame was created and a HOF display will be there to kick off that event. Those who will be inducted into the HOF on the first ballet will be celebrated at the GTOAA Awards Ceremony. There will be a Pontiac Show at Pypes as well anyone wishing to attend. Anyone who wishes to attend that show on June 30 will be able to do so through the link provided. Many from out of the area that may have wanted to tour the former Performance Years facility that are in town for the convention can visit that day and take a tour and partake in a Pontiac Show if they wish.

The GTOAA East Coast Regional is held there every year the 3rd week of June. Max Performance sponsors that event, and holds 3 large shows simultaneously in 3 different areas. The GTOAA Regional is the premier event and run separately from the other shows. It's been quite popular.

Chris Casperson has been working nearly a year on developing the Pontiac Preservation Association. PPA. A Pontiac Hall of Fame. With the Convention being held this year nearby the timing was right to tie the Pontiac Hall of Fame in with the Convention. Many VIP's from the Pontiac world will be in town which will help kick off this newly formed Hall of Fame. Offering a special Hall of Fame Display and holding the Pontiac Show on the last day of the convention will afford many to visit the facility and if they want attend that event. That event is separate from the convention however those who will be chosen to be inducted into the HOF will be honored at the GTOAA banquet. This event will offer those who attend the convention an option to attend a local event nearby. All registrations and questions on the event will be the responsibility of Pypes not the GTOAA. Max Performance/Pypes is a sponsor of the GTOAA Convention but their local show is separate from the convention.

There have been GTOAA Conventions in the past where on the Saturday of the convention, an open car show was opened to the locals to come in and show.

OK, that makes sense. Just could not figure how other makes were in with a GTOAA event which in my mind should be exclusive to the GTO/Pontiac. Sounds like a big weekend.
