I have a running engine with approximately 10,000 miles. It is a correct WT code 389 for a '65 GTO with manual transmission.

I am rebuilding the numbers-matching engine to my '65 GTO convertible. I will need to keep some items off this engine for my numbers-matching engine, but I will have a long block with some additional items included. A port-matched correct intake manifold, re-chromed correct valve covers, oil pan, timing cover, and push rod cover are among the extras that will be included. I have some other parts to add with it as well. I am only keeping what I need to put my numbers-matching engine back in my car. I have an extra correct distributor and rebuildable correct fuel pump and Carter AFB that can go with it.

I have videos of this engine running. I just started taking my car apart so I cannot run it now.

I am asking $3,500 for it. I can deliver it within 100 miles of the Omaha area. This engine can be installed and ran as is. I would replace the rear main seal before installing it. If you want to rebuild it like I am rebuilding mine with dished pistons to reduce the compression for 91 octane fuel, you will be starting with a standard bore block. The person I bought it from many years ago honed the cylinders when it had 40,000 miles and installed standard bore Badger pistons. He built it loose so it's noisy at a cold start. It quiets down once it warms up. It runs great and I have not had any trouble with during the 13-plus years its been in my '65 GTO. I'd keep it if I wasn't rebuilding the original engine to my car.

If you're interested I can give you contact information and try to post a video of it running.

I could probably ship it. I would need a crate etc. to pack it and mail it. It's a running engine, so you would likely be better off with the whole engine. I'd rather sell it complete. I still have the engine in my car, but I am getting close to being ready to lift it out of my car.

I will have to see if I can post my video(s) of it running on this site. I have three including one that is a little long because it is a ride in my car.

Where are you located?

I made an attempt to download a video of the engine running on YouTube. Here is the link to try:

I am going to try to download a couple more.

Hope this works....

Here's a ride along video taken by my 11-year-old son. I repeat a lot of information as I drive. It's to show how the engine behaves from when it's cold to when it reaches operating temperature. Plus you can see how it runs in my car.

It's over 13 minutes long and my son had a few blank moments, so you can likely see what you need by skimming along some of the parts of the video.

Hope it works.

I do not have one to offer but I have a suggestion.

Have you ever heard of Franks Pontiac Parts? They carry a ton of blocks, heads, intakes, cranks and the like. Check them out if you have not.

I am planning on pulling the engine this weekend. I don't want to part the engine out and just sell the block. If you're looking for just a block, I'd try Frank's Pontiac Parts.
