Hello, new member here. I have a 69 Lemans that I am mounting a 67 dual gate shifter into. I have most everything worked out, but I do not know how the factory mounted the shifter to the floor pan. Did they just drill the floor and use large sheet metal type screws, or were there nutserts installed in the floor to accept regular bolts? Or maybe cage nuts? I am sure I can get it mounted, but I would prefer to do it the original way. Thanks for any help.

welcome

its fairly tough to get the 67 dual gate to fit a 69 console 68-72... mostly the top plate ...
68 is the easier one to use ...direct bolt in..
they just screw to the floor

Thank you! I have had this car since 2005, put it on hold in 2006 and am just now getting back to it.

I am using a 66 console that I opened up to fit the 67 dual gate. I have always loved the look of the early metal consoles. What kind of screws? Basically, drill a hole and use a hex head 1/4 inch sheet metal screw?
