hi, i have a 67 gto , i have installed the later single piston calipers up front as used on the 69 gto, the kit came with pads but i have no idea what brand but assume they are basic generic pads, so i thought i might installed a better quality disc pad, the car is just a weekend driver only suburb driving no racing, i just want the best pad possible to give me the best stopping power without having to warm the pads up etc, most drives are short distance, i have read about hawk, ebc, lucas, and others, anyone have any thoughts?, thanks

The best pads in your situation are the soft, organic-based pads you already have. They will work better cold and will wear the rotors less. The performance metallic and ceramic pads are harder and out perform the organic based during abusive driving conditions (racing, trailer towing, etc.)

i understand what your saying but i just figured the disc brake kit from right stuff i installed would just have the basic generic pads probably made in china included in the kit, i know i dont need any hard race style pad but thought there must be a better quality pad available, i have been told the EBC green stuff pads are good so looking at these, these companies like ebc, hawk etc put a bit of time in designing pads so surely they have a better street pad than the no name ones i have now, or maybe not, but as usual i will research.....of course !
