Guys

Been going through resto reference materials and found something I'm wondering about.

Building a WS RA motor and trying to figure if this is something I need to be concerned with?

I have found that there appears to be 2 different Harmonic Balancers & part numbers for '68 & '69 motors; one Standard, and the other for Ram Air.

Standard P/N 477682

RAM Air P/N 9794058

Can anyone tell me what if any, the differences are?

Also, is it critical to update to new built HB's, or is using an original in good condition okay to do?

Let me know,

Thanks

I would replace the HB. Think about it. Originals are over 50 years old and may work fine, but...
In reference for 68 only, the standard P/N is for the standard/RA I engines. I'm pretty sure (not positive) the second number is for the RA II engine.
