There have been previous posts on this topic so please bear with me.

I am redoing my '71 and taking the approach of restoring each Engine bolt-on component individually including paint.

Reference the attached picture - I have been using VHT Pontiac Blue SP-122

The Harmonic Balancer in the forefront has not yet been fully painted.

The color to me appears to be closer to Teal/Light Blue versus the Light Blue I have been using.

The below site lists paint recommendations for the various years.

Pontiac Engine Colors

What are your thoughts and has anyone tried the Ames or Classic Industries products ? if so, are they closer to the Teal/Light Blue color.

Ames FN410H
Classic Industries K89210 Teal/Light Blue
Performance Years RPE481
VHT Paints Pontiac Blue SP-122

Thank you!

Look at the selection that Bill Hirsch auto has. I used it on my 65 block & it's held out well after several years.
Not cheap, but good stuff. Color match was good.

If you google “loffen restoring my -71 vert” on the performance years forum

One of the guys there posted the ppg paint formula in post 268.

There is a pretty good discussion there about the different spray paints too

On down There are some pics in that thread with the Scott tieman paint as well. Just like pmd4me said, that one looks the best.
