My first big mileage road trip in the goat will begin 12-29. I'm driving from Victorville, CA to Phoenix, AZ. I know if I wasn't in too much pain when I drove my '93 Vette to Phoenix, I should be fine in the goat. Has anyone else driven their goat on a long trip (500+ miles)?

I did 200 miles on the 23rd right from the dealership and 450 on the 26th with only a stop for gas. I had no issues and was actually surprised how comfortable the ride was. I used my o/u set at 95 because when I was passing people I would get up to 110 without realizing it. I didn't see a single other GTO my whole trip.

'Bout 3 weeks ago I went from San Antonio to Los Angeles and back. Nice car to travel in. Seats were wonderful, gas milage was about 24.5 average, with a high of 27. Those 400 ft/lbs of torque are very useful on grades and such. :cheers

I just drove from Toledo, OH to Indianapolis, IN for a 1.5 hour meeting and turned right around and drove home. Total time in the GTO was about 8 hours. Aside from the retarded Rest Warning, it was a very comfortable drive. BTW - I got 24.8 avg MPG on the trip with cruise set at 72.

In my old '99 Firehawk, I used to tire after 2 - 3 hours of traveling. I haven't made a long trip in the '05 GTO yet but I have no doubt it'll be much more comfortable.

I've only seen one other GTO since I got mine on the 10th of December, and it was a yellow '04.

First week in Oct. with 2,700 miles on her, we loaded on the auto train in Sanford Fl. and unloaded in Lorton Va.
Drove to Atlantic City for 2 days then on to Lake Placid then across Lake Champlain to Burlington. Drove thru Vermont, New Hampshire, down thru Mass., Conn, New York, and back to Atlantic City. After 1 more night at the casino we drove back to Florida.
It was a great trip. Foliage was near mid peak. Mountain driving was a blast.
I installed a K&N CAI, a 160 tstat, and a cags eliminator before trip.
Only problem was trying to go up Mt. Washington throttle response lagged around 4,000 ft. Computer might have been trying to adjust to cai install.
Total drive was over 3,000 miles. Auto train saved a little over 800 miles.
Trip was one week.
