air cleaner and A.I.R.

I have the smog pump on my 67 Goat and am looking at the plumbing.
The large hole at the rear of the pump goes to the bottom of the air cleaner and the passenger rocker cover connects to the side of the air cleaner.
I want to keep the smog as original (for now) but I want to run an open air air cleaner.
What can I do?
I mean the air intake on this air cleaner is smaller than the one on my lawmower!!!!

Keep that thing in the trunk and run a real air cleaner on it. Then when you're at the show/ burger joint put the straw back on and you get both.:willy:
