Greetings,
While I am sure that he is not in the market to sell, my father is the original owner of a nocturne blue 1964 GTO convertible (white top) with the 4 barrel, not the tri-power. It has not been scrupulously maintained in stock form, but is probably 90+% original. I believe that it has different exhausts, the exterior mirror is not factory, the interior carpet may not be original, but is same color, the top has been replaced as well. The upholstry is original and in fantastic condition, and everything else is factory, as far as I know. The car still runs great.

I know..."it's not worth anything, if he isn't willing to sell", I was just curious as to a ballpark figure this vehicle would be worth to a collector.

Regards,

Gary

Well, it would depend on how sharp it is, (paint condition, underhood) but it sounds like a fairly original Cal. (no rust) car. One owner is a plus. I would guess between $28-40,000 (broad range, I know). Auto or 4-speed would make a little difference. I wouldn't dream of selling mine for less than $30,000. To compare, mine is a rust-free, non original motor, Tri-power 4-speed. Red/black with a new white top. Newer paint, and a great driver.

Thanks for the info Rich! The motor is indeed the original, as is the 4 speed manual. The car has always been garaged, and is definitely rust free.

Thanks again!

You know, I don't have any pics of it handy. I will have to do a photo spread of our two GTO's side by side. I wish my wife had been more open to the midnight blue...it would have mathced up well with my dad's nocturne blue model.

Here is an image I found online of a car that could be the identical twin of my dad's car.

If the car is taken care of, which most original owners are, AND you have all original documentation (if noit then you can get copies) then that car could easily sell for 50k.
