Guys,

I am seeing that there are different thickness valve cover gaskets, for our Beloved 400 CID Poncho motor.

Have a now rebuilt '68 WS motor, with #48 heads and RA exhaust manifolds.

I want the thicker gaskets for the valve covers, but I am not seeing on the net who is the best manufacturer, the part number, and who sells them?

In the old days it was cork & rubber, and that may well still be, but I am seeing newer materials being used.

I.e. neoprene, solid core, etc.

FelPro was the standard, but not sure if still is...?

Can anyone please provide me with the info I am looking for?

Looking to buy some now.

Thanks in advance for the info.

I would stick with the cork style gaskets. I have used the neoprene on a SBC and was never able to get them to be leak free. Switched back to the cork and never had a leak again. I don't remember the brand. It was whatever the local parts guy had (independent shop), but Felpro sounds right.

Found Em - FelPro VS50003AC - 1/4" RAM Air VC Gaskets

Found Em - If anyone else needs the info

Bolts are different length as well - longer for RA

Stock Application for RAM Air = 1/4" thickness is the difference

is Cork & Rubber Gaskets

FelPro VS50003AC - Valve cover gaskets

= 1/4" RAM Air VC Gaskets

The regular Stock Application for Non-RAM Air is:

FelPro VS50003C = 1/8" Valve cover gaskets
