Hey guys, I need help. My 2005 GTO has been at my local Chevy dealer for over a month now. The car died on the road twice, with an engine failure warning. I had it towed there, and they said it looks like the ECM is no good. They apparently cannot find an ECM, for some strange reason? I talk with the service manager every week, and I keep on getting "We hear its on backorder with AC Delco". I want a remanfactured AC Delco ECM that has a warranty. I'm trying to avoid buying a used one on Ebay with no warranty.

Any suggestions? Are these things really that hard to find? I understand the part # (19210071) was available on 8 model cars for that year (Corvette, Envoy, Saab 9-7x, Chevy SSR, etc). I did a google search and found one on RockAuto.com , but when i tried to add to the cart, it then said it was unavailable.

I live in Northern VA area. Any suggestions? Any good garages that would be able to track this down and install it? Im ready to give up on this crappy dealer after 5 weeks. (btw, i do have alternate transportation, thats why I haven't been super pressed on this. But at this point, its ridiculous. I want the car back and running).

Thanks!
Darren

There is a guy in Tucson that has parted out about a hundred of these cars and has all that stuff cataloged. Check out the Craigslist in that area and see if he has anything posted. I think he might have some stuff on ebay.....search for that city and see what comes up.

There couldn't have been very many different calibrations since most all these cars were made with the same features. Auto vs Manual would be the big thing. Everything else would be the same IMO....
