Read an article on how car companies decide colors a few years ago. Pretty much all driven by consumer demand.

1. If a particular color isn't selling well at launch -- it will get pulled mid-year. Days of inventory is the indicator. Say if a car has 50 days of inventory in the pipeline -- but there's one color at 125 -- that one's going to get plucked.

2. If sales of a color drop from one year to the next. Yellow cars tend to do really, really great the first year out of the box -- then tail off the second year -- and get dropped the third. With the Mustang -- yellow was huge in 94, fell off in 95 -- then got pulled for orange in 96. The thing is that while the GTO looks pretty darn good in yellow -- a lot folks won't go for it because of the attention factor.

3. The final reason is color churn keeps is an inexpensive way to keep a product fresh -- and may lead to a hot color really taking off. Orange has been pretty big in the fashion business for the past couple of years -- so dropping yellow for it makes sense.

Was bummed because Barbados Blue got dropped so early. Never got to see one before buying. Surprised white with gray leather has never been offered. Think it'd be fun to see some of the old Judge colors or some of the old Mopar colors, like Go Mango, make it -- but, again, a lot of people would be too scared to buy them.
