i have an old carb that i think is off a pontiac gto. it used to be on a 67 gto. don't know if it was original to the car. I can't find any tags. the only thing i find is stamped into the linkage side of it and it say mfg. by carter for gmc. on the very back of it carb on the body is stamped J35 and beside that is the no's 7047687. that is the only ones i can find on it. is it a 67 or later year? can you help me out on this.

Interesting... according to Cliff Ruggle's book, it's a '77 carb., non-Calfornia. The "8" in the 6th position denotes either Checker motors, or marine. That's a little odd, but hey...who knows.

that carb is made by carter, but it has a rochester part # wich i recall was common in the'70s when i worked at a auto parts store. im sure it has more applications. carb kit instruction sheet will list all. rickm.
