You heading to Joliet? My wife and I are too 👍
Your right I used my 77 GP to tow the 73 GP. I could have used the Olds Omega. Later I put a hitch on the 88 IROC to tote a U-haul to Tenn. Most people get the biggest truck they can and don't really need it. The mid sized trucks are very capable. I towed a Grand Marquis junker class with mine without issue. Figure close to 6000 pounds between the car and trailer.
The S-10 was a great truck. My used 1992 S-10 with the 4.3/5-speed had 156,000 miles on it and was a mess, now 163,000 miles 6 years later. It has a salvage title, so it was totalled out at some point and pieced together. Someone was in the process of making a low rider out of it and did not know what they were doing. But, it had the engine/trans combo I wanted and I replaced parts to get it back into better shape. I yanked the bed off and replaced it with a flat bed made from materials I got at work, so cost me nothing. I use it very little only to go to Home Depot/Lowe's or pick up things I can't load in my car. No fun driving it to work in stop/go traffic for an hour with the 5-speed. It is peppy and has a performance muffler so when I want to hot rod around town and burn tires, I take it for a spin.Still leaning to the Tacoma.
Nice truck PJ. Always loved those square body S10s. That being said, I suspect that @fcleff69 is looking for something a bit newer and bit less home brew, if you know what I mean. He's not really a hands on, repair your car, type of guy.The S-10 was a great truck. My used 1992 S-10 with the 4.3/5-speed had 156,000 miles on it and was a mess, now 163,000 miles 6 years later. There are SO MANY pavement princesses here in Austin. Most people get the biggest truck they can and don't really need it. The mid sized trucks are very capable. I towed a Grand Marquis junker class with mine without issue. Figure close to 6000 pounds between the car and trailer.

This is true. But at some point I’d like to learn how to do some general maintenance like brakes, tune ups, stuff like that.Nice truck PJ. Always loved those square body S10s. A newer truck is nice, but pricing is crazy. They came out with the Ford Ranger and I was hoping it was that same as the older and smaller Ranger that rivalled the Chevy S-10. I was disappointed to see that is was more like the Colorado which in my opinion is the "old" full size pick up versus these huge type pick up trucks/4-wheelers. No one seems to make a small economy truck anymore. I recall the old Chevy Luv, Datsun, Toyota, and even Volkswagen compact trucks. This is true. I am wanting a truck that is newer and want to take care of it so that it lasts a while. That said, if I could find an old 1978 Ford F150 like I had back in high school I wouldn’t say no. That was back when they made engines that were actually easy to understand. Still, I have plans for a truck and have some specific needs in mind. It won’t be a pavement Princess.
Had a ticket for section P but stood trackside and hung out in the camping area with some guys I know that had two camping slots. We're in section K, where you at dadspackard31?
Nice, ya saw it and posted the video in my Day at the Races thread. Most were shutting down after 330 ft to just get a feel for the track.Had a ticket for section P but stood trackside and hung out in the camping area with some guys I know that had two camping slots.
Some good racing last night. As you saw alot of the cars had trouble getting the tires to stick.
How about the one promod just crossing the finish line and rolling it onto its roof. Hope the dri er is ok.
Today I am heading down to Peotone annual charity car show. This one the proceeds are going to the animal shelter or they are taking donation of cleaning product ls etc....
No GTO drive thou. I have not gotten to bypassing the heater core. 😩
Have a good day all....
You're talking about the Ford Maverick. Some dealers have them, at least around here, but I imagine they're going for list or above.Ford has a version of the mini trucks of ago. Issue is they can't build them fast enough to meet the demand. I heard that Ford stopped taking preorders on them because they were already sold 2 years out. Hyundai has a smaller truck too. Problem with both is they are not available with anything except the 4ish foot bed. Not sure about the Ranger but the Colorado and Toyota are. Or were, I've heard that GM has stopped making the small cab, longer bed Colorado as well.
That's the one. Funny thing is Ford claims they are not taking orders for them but my local dealer appears to have a coupe in stock too. You're talking about the Ford Maverick. Some dealers have them, at least around here, but I imagine they're going for list or above.
