Hey guys! 66 GTO After I had engine rebuilt and installed I've had a pretty bad oil leak under engine. It seems that its leaking from the oil tube. The "mechanic" did a poor job on a few issues, for one the tube extension actually fell off inside the pan so oil was being pushed out at the stick. So I had to remove the dipstick and put a rubber cover over the tube to stop that issue. Now I've discovered that the tube itself where its in the block is leaking pretty bad. The question is...... Is there a way the seal this from the outside using a type of sealer or does the motor have to come back out?
Thanks for any advice/Help.... 50 Years with this incredible car with me...

Rick, The proper repair would be to pull the engine and fix it right.

The dipstick tube inside is loose, that really must be fixed. Not sure how you can seal that problem.

Maybe the mechanic would do it for free or a greatly reduced price. If he is out of the picture you may have to find a good shop that can work on a Pontiac.

50 years with the car, you and the car are both worth it. It will be just another great story to go with you and the car!
