[Dauntless 1971]

This is the only bracket that came with my 1965 Tempest. I am not sure if it is
even for a Pontiac.

Yes. That's the lower bracket.

the only thing I see that could be Pontiac is the cap

it sure looks like my 67 327 chevy pump n stuff

Been over 30 since I was running a 327 but that was my thought also.

It is called a stove pipe steering pump. Thay came out on cheve and Pontiac. Thay are old ones.

Yes the pump may be an old Pontiac version, though not the correct one for a GTO/Tempest. The bracket sure looks like it mounted to the water pump of a small block Chevy. I might be able to change the pulley and bracket till get it to work, except I am leaning to get a Lares rebuilt 66 Pontiac version along with new hoses from Rockauto.

the return fitting on a pontiac is not in the center like the one shown
I do have a couple correct 66 power steering brackets...
minus hardware
a rear big bracket
and the large front bracket ,,, no slim top bracket
and i have alternator to thermo housing also
also have a nice original pump and nice reservoir and correct cap
NO pulley sorry

Yes my book arrived Friday.
I started this thread with ordering a set of the three 66 alternator/ps brackets I need.
Now a bit disappointed with the seller.
Seemed like a fair price for used, but she sent me the main bracket
with a stripped hole and a buggered one also. So 2 out of 3 bad.
I am sending it back and she says she has another in usable condition.
Bunch of BS, now paying the shipping twice ends what I thought was a good price.
I would like more info the PS pump
