Steven, you're out of control. The '68 started the body lines for the '69 - '72. They saw a good thing and kept it around for 5 years!!!:D

greengoat, yes that is true,68 started that body style and 69 is my second favorite followed by 68,but neither has the muscular creases and the clean nose 70 has.:cheers

Oh, but the 69 hideaways are so sweet!! It's crazy to think they retooled the dies every year to make them all unique, but the Mustang stayed pretty much the same body 79-93. Corvette 84-96, Camaro 82-93. Guess the manufacturers got lazy. I like the 70-72body lines over the 68/9 round body.

1965 was the perfect original GTO. Distilled to 100 proof. Still lean and mean, not yet encumbered with energy absorbing steering columns or plastic safety window knobs and shoulder belts...improved over the '64 in engine, frame, and drivetrain....not yet dripping with overhang and sound deadening. It is the very essence of Muscle Car.

I love all the early goats, but the 69 is what I own, and what I voted for. For the record the 69 was the first year for the Judge, first year for Ram Air IV, first year for no wing windows (for good or bad), first year for rear spoiler (although it produces "lift" not "downforce" lol) and I just happen to like the little details on the exterior of the 69 which differentiate it from the 68 like the clean nose, clean grill design and the Pontiac crest rear marker lights. Personally, I like the 68 dash better, my car with a black interior makes the dash look plain in comparison. :cheers
