I'd like to have a hatchback 74 with a 455 and 4 speed, unfortunately, none ever came that way and I think most enthusiasts don't think of them as "real" GTO's because they were basically a stickered up Nova with a weak suck Pontiac 350.

Oh, it's the only GTO to ever offer the "camper option" lol. Anybody got a pic of one of those?

Most 'enthusiasts' dont think of the 04-06 as a 'real' GTO but that's a whole different discussion.

I found it! When you mentioned it, I knew I seen it before. Another strange fact: If you take the four cars that G.M. built on that platform in 1974, Nova, Omega, Ventura, Apollo, the initials would spell NOVA.

69 is my favroite, IMHO, I like the cleaner lines with the deletion of the vent windows from 68, and prefer the body lines to the crested quarters and fenders of the 70-72s. 65 would be my 2nd choice.

Poll should be in 2, the best looking vs the best driving/handling GTO, early years that is, not the 04-06;s with their modern suspensions
I was lucky enough to own a 64, 4 gear, my favorite car of all time.
But, it cornered much like my 02 Ranger!
But, for looks, at that time i don;t think anything had the muscle look of that 64.
I traded it even steven for a Daimler, only becuase it had a Hemi in it, i still occasionaly kick myself in the ass!
