I have the Pypes Race Pro mufflers and my car is way too quiet, even at idle. Your car has a real nice tone. Need to add another video under acceleration. Thanks.

Sounds deep and throaty. Love that old school exhaust sound. I’m going to probably die chasing that on my GTO.😂

Firing order is against you. That being said, the LS can sound pretty rowdy with the right cam.

I have the long body Race Pros on mine. They were pretty quite on the tame 400, with log style manifolds, that was under the hood before. Not so much with the 461 that lives in there now. Running an X pipe seems to quiet down the exhaust a bit as well.

Those sound great! Flowmaster 40s are my favorite classic muscle sound. That said, when I installed my Pypes system, I went with the short body Turbo Pros. They have a decent rumble outside the car but quiet in the cabin so I can still listen to my tunes and no drone on longer rides to shows. Then I can open the Granatelli cutouts when I want to raise Cain. Closed the 40s still sound better though... 🍻

Preaching to the choir there... Pypes has no business adding the word "race" to their mufflers. My girlfriends Conair sounds like a Top Fuel Dragster, compared to my GTO with ANY Pypes muffler. And trust me, I tried them all!

I never heard of those. Are they new?

I don't know how new they are Jimmy? Maybe a couple years now. They make a short and long version and both are basically just a classic turbo muffler in stainless. They are listed as the quietest in the lineup but mine really rumble when you're behind the car.

I also have the x-pipe cross over, on my 467, but with the Doug's headers and wanted that rumbly-blub-blub sound at idle. I'm running a Comp Cam XR264HR-10 camshaft and it's definitely too mild. Stock heads too.
