Being a new owner, and not familiar w/ the 400 horses I just bought (although I love each and every one of them)..I have a couple of questions that are nagging me. I'd appreciate any input:

1) Stereo Settings: When the car sits for the night, the stereo settings all go back to "0" for bass and treble. (The DDL and voulmer booster stay off though, the way I set it). How do I keep this from happening!

2) Tranny Clinks and Tinks: I have the M6 which seems to be doing very well. I realize this is a heavy duty tranny so I'm not sure if the 'clinks' I hear at low speeds (1st / 2nd) gear are normal when disengaging and engaging the clutch. I've driven plenty of GM manuals, but never the big Tremec, not sure if these are regular.

3) The wrong beeps: The car beeps like hell when I take my seat belt off when car is on and I'm getting ready to get out. The car wont beep if I leave my headlights on though. What gives? Is there an adjustment for this?

Besides the endless search for the amp...I'm loving this car and thank you for any help!

1.) I use the "Classical" EQ setting for the stereo so I don't know if my Bass/Treble settings would reset or not.

2.) I have 7,000 miles on my M6 and have never heard any noise from the clutch. Dead silent. Now the shifter on the other hand clunks and thunks on 1-2-3 but 4-5-6 are pretty smooth and quiet. You can't rush a shift with this thing. I figure it's just the way this T56 is designed. It has gotten much smoother with miles though. Also, it stiffens up quite a bit in cold weather. More so than other cars I've owned.

3.) I leave my headlights set to "Auto" and the car will beep and flash an icon on the guage cluster if you unbuckle with the engine running. But after maybe a half dozen beeps, it gives up and stops beeping. Since my headlights or DRL's are always on yours should be doing the same thing.

Hope this helps.

When I drove an M6, I noticed that going into 2nd is a delicate procedure. You can't rush the shift but if you take too much time the car will nosedive. No school zones for me!

I was driving home tonight and you're both right. I found you cant shift this bad boy too soon. I'm used to my older cars (mannuals not near to the bulk of the Tremec) which I sorta babied. This car does not like to be babied or driven slowly through town.

Our radios have seperate bass and treble settings for CD vs. radio( I can't be sure though, dealer got it again.)

Never had that kind of problem before....me and all the gears get along just fine...as long as they understand that I'm in charge :D

For some reason I get the mental image of you giving a very harsh pep talk (like a strict football coach) to your car every morning before you pull out of the driveway. ;)

My M6 makes a lot of noises in the low gears as well. Rattly, clanky noises. I just ignore them for the most part as it seems to work just fine.

Agreed on the shifter, you drive the car the way IT wants you to drive it. It doesn't take kindly to being forced.

Also I havn't managed to find the amp either.

Are you referring to the location of the subwoofer amp?
