Well I was not sure if I was going to get a GTO or a 2006 Stang GT....
But 2 weeks ago I walked into a local ford dealer and they had a really nice 2006 Siver with Red interior And very loaded and the salesmanager said he would give it to me at INVOICE...
Sticker was $30,125
Invoice $27,885.......Not a bad deal....

I would have waited till I could have got a GTO at Invoice but could not because of the deal that I got.
I know that there are not many GTOs as Stang Gts But it seems that Stang Gts will be in short supply as last year so the resale will be a bit higher.
Hope yea all get the GTOs that you want but please get it for around Invoice...JohnnyT

Its kind of suprising that you were able to get it for that, with the current demand for them. Enjoy your new car and let us know how you like it. :cheers

Well I was not sure if I wanted a GTO or a 2006 stang Gt at the time.
I knew in a few months that the GTO would have to go down in price to around invoice(I was hopping)
But I also had a Fords X-Plan where I found a dealer that would give me the X-Plan Pricing for a 2006 stang Gt.
Sept 3rd I called ford dealer up and still no sign of a Stang Gt{even though they had been getting a few}
Called a Few Ford Dealers up and nobody in the Lehigh Valley,New Jersey area had any Gts{found one dealer had a 2005 that wanted sticker)
Called the last ford dealer in my area about 40 mins away 40 miles.
And I asked him will he take X-pLan and he said sure, when I got to the dealer I showed him my contract from the other ford dealer with the X=Plan Number.and he said screw the X-Plan i will give you the car at INVOICE $50 differance.I said greatttttt,After I sighed all the papers I asked him why did he sell me the car at cost and his reply was.IT WAS A SALE ....
silver Gt (really wanted Black)
automatic (really wanted Manual)
Shacker1000 (really wanted shacker500)
Red Seats and all the extras....................
The Stang is a pretty cool car and i get thumbs up lots of times and it rides well and i do enjoy the Automatic(but like Manual}The stereo shacker1000 I keep off i don't need all that bass.

Would have bought a GTO but really hate paying over $30,000 for a car.And i am sure most of you that are looking now might be able to get a GTO at INVOICE(well wait till GM employees program is over)JohnnyT

Gotta love the xplan, I got the invoice pricing on my Goat and then the rebates. There are a lot of GT's round here, seems to be the new budget fast car. You can get one for around 25k and after cruising the mustang forums I see that with little mods you will be into the 12's.

Based on a lot of your previous posts, it's not a shock that you chose the Mustang. But to each his own. "Enjoy!"

The Mustangs do look very attractive, but in my area they are incredibly common, must be a Southern California thing eh? I must admit I'd also rather have the Monaro and the C6 LS2. The 'Stang is a nice ride though, congratulations on your purchase, I hope it brings you much joy. :cheers

You gotta love them MUSTANGS!!!!

I love them every time I look in the mirror and see the look of shock on the drivers face. The Gotta Have It Factor is no replacement for horsepower. Other than that they are starting to look dated to me already, like they have been around for forever. The Mustang that is really starting to look good to me is the 79-93 body when they haven't been modded with wings and are in clean shape. The Cobras all look good, and taste like chicken!!!

My uncle gave me a spin in his new Stang GT.

I hate to say this, but I was very underwhelmed. The interior felt sooooooo cheap. Escort cheap.

The shifter (he has an automatic) has the flashing from the injected molded plastic handle running right on top of the round handle. It looks terrible. The door panels look and feel incredibly cheap. The view from the interior is terrible - the hood is enormous. The dash is hard and loose. Maybe I was expecting too much, but it just felt loose, cheap, and not at all polished.

All that being said, I think it has a better stereo and I liked the abilty to change the speedometer light color. I also think it's a great looking car.

But, in the end, the GTO is faster, less ubiquitous, much more well made, and faster. Did I mention it's faster?

Whether you love them or hate them GT's in my area are hard to come by...

A GT at invoice?... that's got to be the best deal I've heard of so far.
Every dealer around here still has a 1000 markup on the sticker. Used GT's are going for 25-29k. I have to agree Invoice is smoking hot. He could theoreticlly drive that thing for 6 months/6k and sell it for what he paid for it.

well I am sure the ones that see many Stangs around are mostly V6s.
I have not seen many Stang Gts,and yes the GTOs are more limited but last year they did not make many Gts but they did make alot of V6s..And This year it looks the same not many stang Gts on dealers lots but many V6s on the lots..
If I didnot get the Gt at invoice I would still be waiting to get a GTO once the prices drops abit in the next few weeks.
I think the Gto and the Stang Gt are both great cars and its a no lose on any of them.
I called Sun State Ford in Florida and they have about 8 Gts on their lot and the sales person told me they wanted $3000 over stick,,,,Wonder what they have been smoking...Funny I don't think the Interior is cheap looking at all with the upgrade package.I am sure many of you are enjoying your GTOs and you should because the GTO is a great car.....JohnnyT
