I have a 1965 GTO Convertible 4sp all original except the WS 389 was replaced with an XH 400(1969 Block). I just wondered where you could go to see how many GTOs were built just like your GTO. Are there any stats or data pages out there that would give you this info? Paul.:leaving:

Paul, A book I have say only 11,311 convertibles in the LeMans series. How many of those were GTO's? I don't know. And 19,091 GTO's had the tri-pwrs, the highest selling year for the tri-powers. You will only be able to guess how many GTO's were tri-pwr, 4-speed and conv.

There is a 1965 GTO conv, tri-pwr, 4 speed registy today. Only 45 are known to exist in the registy. Very rare car!!

I don't think what you are looking for exists. PHS would have to take the build sheet data and put it in a spreadsheet. For example, I have a strange set of options on my '67 post coupe...p/s/, p/b, a/c, tinted windshield, deluxe seat belts, 4 sp. What it doesn't have...vinyl roof, console, posi. I have never seen another '67 GTO without a console. Our brand new '67 post coupe had p/s, vinyl top, console, rallye gauges, posi. No p/b, a/c or tint. With the list of dealer installed options running close to 2 pages, doubt there are 2 GTO's of any year that are the same if you factor in color.

What PJW said. And also, on the py forums, as Roger that stated, there are only 45 known original existing '65 TP 4 speed ragtops at this time. The fact that yours was born with a WS engine still elevates the value a lot, even with the wrong block in there now. Not as much as if the born with block was still there, but still, a bunch.

I have wondered if there was a resource for the exact build #'s as well, my '65 ragtop was a black 4bbl 4 speed car, and have had a few people tell me that the black color was rare. Never been able to find anything on how many were bulit with various options though

PHS would have to digitize 500,000+ build sheets. If you did 1,000 per day, it would take a year and a half. GTO Production Numbers : Drivin' It Home
Now if all the 1967 owners got together and offered to pay PHS to do it...one decent clerk for 3 months would be say $10k. I don't see it happening unless someone develops a very sophisticated OCR program.

A true black 65 GTO has a huge demand. I would say Irish mist would follow a close 2nd.
