Purchased today out of garage for 30 years

My name is Bill I’ve been restoring cars somewhat more of a street type of restoration since I’m 17 years old. I’ve never completed a full frame off and I have several cars. I have a few that I bought from estate sales and I just purchased this one, 1965 GTO waiting for the PHS documentation because it was manufactured in the Baltimore plant which doesn’t give me much information. It’s a 389 six pack four-speed console and the interior is really good , i will have more pictures to post tomorrow. I also own at 69 AMX 390 four-speed go pack car and a 57 Chevy Belair candy apple red frame off restoration, I bought the car done. I have a few other cars and I’m not really to mention plain Jane Corvettes I love it I have a passion for it. I love all cars I don’t. I’m not a favorite to one and I look forward to getting some more information from the gurus of this Pontiac website , looking forward to hear from you guys. I’m from Staten Island, New York, and thanks again.

Good luck with the restoration and welcome to the forum. Several experts (not me) in the forum can help you regarding numbers matching pedigree. It’s my understanding tri-power 65’s are very rare. Mine came with a 4 barrel. Carter I think.

Wrong fan, no big deal. Has the light group (underhood light), not common. Also, has backup lamps. Rear chrome panel is nice, as is the rest of the trim. Dry storage sure helped it. IMO, you could detail it and bring it back without a restoration as a semi-survivor car. Tripower may or may not be original to the car, but is the correct unit for the car.
Looks like the right radiator for a tripower car. Missing the horn ring on the steering wheel. All in all, very clean and appears to be mostly unmolested. A super nice and hard to find car these days. Keep us updated!!!

Welcome and good luck with that super nice find.
Don’t know if I would change it much because of what it is .
