There is some sort of round lens by the 7k mark on the tachs.
What is this? An upshift light or a redline warning light? It doesn't come on when i start the car for a bulb test.....
I have a '04 m-6 but have seen these in all the 04 & 05's, doesnt matter whether its a manual or a stick.
When it was in for service, I asked the mechanics and service manager at the selling dealer (who sold 15+ GTO's) and they were all unable to answer.
We all looked, and best we can tell, its NOT explained in the owners manual.

As far as I know, it was intended to be a shift light at redline however, I haven't heard of too many people who say that it works. It was a few months ago (not sure if it was this site or not) but, I remember a few saying that theirs worked--majority did not! If you look under IPC Shift Light/Programming on this site under GTO Technical Discussion someone has created a computer upgrade for this problem.
