Hi gang... :D


I first changed my oil on my "new" engine after 20 miles or less , just to be rid of the assembly lube, it was nasty pink.
I just changed it for the 2nd time, after 250 miles. on the stick i see what appears to be very small 'particles(?) of what kinda looks like rust.
In the light of my led flashlight, the oil pouring out of the oil pan seems to be kind of an 'olive' color.....:confused
what gives?......
ps (it runs perfectly) me hopes me is not screwed :willy:

Post a pic of the end of the dipstick with oil on it on a paper towel/napkin so we can look at it. Probably nothing, as oil is high in detergent, keeps solids in suspension, and you're putting this car back in service after a long period of time. Are you sure you didn't spill any Woodford's Reserve in the oil filler?

Fresh out of Woodford Uncle Geeter......however, some Makers Mark 47 is taking it's place 'till Goat and wifey and I made a run sunday to the newe BevMo in Bellingham sunday:D

I see pink, but no particles. You could run it another 500 miles or so and change the oil and the filter. I think you have residual assy. lube in the engine....it shouldn't hurt anything. Engine oil has a natural 'olive' hue in certain lighting conditions....normal.

You may want to drain the oil thru a strainer and disect the oil filter on the next 500 mile change and see if you have any metal particles in the oil or filter.
