I’m starting to put the a pillar exterior trim back on. I was looking for the screws and found a ziplock that I didn’t mark.

I think the black screws are the ones for the trim but I have no idea what the little brackets are.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I’m just guessing that these might have been part of the original drip rail weather stripping. Looks like it might have been molded into the rubber ( that is why it has all of the holes).

The new seals don’t have any metal there.

Do you think they are necessary

?
