Good Day All
Have a 1966 GTO 389 tri-power that I am looking to add power steering to.
The car is original (124K) and still has about 60% of the original paint.
What I am looking for is the GM part numbers that were used on the brackets/pump/pulleys ect. as I want to keep it as original looking as possible.
Also, If any one has any pics or illustrations of the various components and how they fasten that would be a plus. The GM repair manual is thin when it comes to this.

The firstgen-firebird site has some of the parts books needed for this task.
Looking at the Illustrated pages will give you the Group Numbers to locate the part numbers for said parts.
I.E. Gr. 1.062 for Pulleys etc.

I like to open the ILL page, then open the Index page in a separate tab so I can flip back and forth more efficiently.

Cheers

I have a few of the 65-66 ONLY 389 power steering parts
rear main pump bracket 60.00 bolts to the head
water pump pulley 35.00
crank pulley free has pitting on the back
and a 66 or 67 dated excellent steeringbox
I think I have a pump w no pulley mounted on a 64 front bracket

fairly sure a 65 gets a cast iron pump pulley 66 is a steel pulley

scott

only 1 bracket is marked and its the aluminum main mount bracket
the rest are unique in shape and fit
