I don't know if they made a factory 5 speed that will hold up the the Pontiacs torque to be honest. Maybe a 6 speed out of a Firebird/Camaro.

What's your budget for this project?

Do you have any parts for it yet?

Bellhousing, flywheel, clutchfork you could source used and then sell some stuff to pay for a Tremec. They are sweet tranny's and would hold up to plenty of power and increase the value of your car most likely so you're not taking a monetary loss per se. Believe me, an OD trans is a win win in a vintage Muscle car. Nothing like blowing down the freeway in 5th gear at 70 (+) mph at low rpm.

Most factory five speeds are either weak suck or have odd bellhousing mount (GM T-5 for example is both lol). :cheers

I don't have any parts for it yet. My budget is What I have to spend. I was first think about LS1 6 speed swap but now I want to stay with an older Pontiac. I've look at the new ones $2500 - 3500 But I know the hole project will not be cheap. Thanks JJ
