When I first saw the color choices, my first choice was Cyclone Gray. That is what I went in to order. My wife kept telling me get silver, get silver. I said naaaaa I want the Gray. When I found out the SAP colors did not include Gray in their color choices, and to have the parts painted for 1800, and not be guaranteed a perfect match, I took silver. I'm glad I did.
I was not too wild on taking delivery on a car that I could not see the color first before taking delivery. I am glad I didn't take the Gray after all, although it's nice, I think the silver is hot. I've had so many blue cars in the past, I didn't want blue. Black is hard to keep clean, and my wife's car is red, I didn't want another red car. The darker colors do not show the accents of the car like the lighter colors do. The hood scoops, and grill inserts all blend in and it's hard to see the accents, so I eliminated them too.
Another color I saw in pictures was yellow.. I didn't like it. I thought Why would someone want yellow... YUK!
Well after I saw a few yellow ones at a dealership, I gotta say, man that yellow is hot. The pictures DO NOT do the car justice. I told my wife that if I were looking now, Yellow would be one of my choices. It's just sweet looking. I like it a lot..... after I got a chance to see one in person.
Ordering a color from a book is not a wise decision if you haven't seen a car in your color choice. Although I'd take a GTO in any color just to have a GTO, picking the color is the personal touch ya add to the vehicle. For my taste, the Gray is nice, but I think that if I would have waited for my order and it arrived, and I wasn't totally happy with it, well, there just aren't any others around to swap with, and I would have taken it all the while kicking my self in the arz . At the time of delivery once the car arrived, there were no Silver ones even close to me.
My point is this: If you are looking for a particular color without seeing it in person, make it a point to go see one, cause the chip samples, and the color samples look a whole lot different on paper than they do on the car. The Yellow I once thought was YUK, well, after seeing it on metal, I think it's sweet looking.
